When the salesperson at Byredo first showed me their hair perfume I rolled my eyes thinking she was just trying to sell me a more expensive version of regular perfume that they just strategically named ‘hair perfume’ to get suckers like me to buy it. Well, then, because my willpower is subpar at best, I actually did buy it and now I will forever feel guilty for my initial reaction because this has become the number one item I cannot leave my house without right now. I’m addicted to their scent called ‘Flowerhead’ and it somehow binds to your hair differently than regular perfume does and holds an insanely refreshing scent for the entire day. Every time you move people will be pleasantly surprised by the gorgeous smell coming from your hair. I swear I’ve never gotten more ‘you smell good’ comments in my entire life. Getting a lifetime supply of this stuff as soon as I can and it will definitely be my holiday gift of choice this year to all the women in my life.
I had been looking for the perfect reusable water bottle for about a year before I finally found this one. I hated every other brand because they either tasted like plastic or metal, had way too big of a mouthpiece that made me constantly spill all over myself when I took a sip, or, in the most superficial way, they just didn’t vibe with my personal aesthetic. But then again, whose aesthetic is a silver metal bottle anyway? I digress… These, on the other hand, have none of those problems, come with not just one, but three caps including a sports cap which I keep on mine full time, it fits in every cup holder I’ve ever tried it in–it’s simply perfect.
Ok now these babies are for my fellow hokey-pokey, soul-searching junkies. I swear these work and well if they don’t they have a crazy placebo effect I can attest to. They’re little circular stickers that you place near your heart on the left side of your body for up to 72 hours. Each of the stickers is meant to deliver a different vibe, i.e. mood boost or anti-anxiety through each frequency-programmed disc. They’re pre-programmed with particular frequencies of energy that are then sent through your body to lift your mood, make it easier to connect with people, practice more self-love, etc. I wear about four at any given time and I promise you I notice a significant difference when I do, they’re my favorite new invention and quick fix when I’m in a mood.
I have been a religious J Brand jean-wearer since I was 15 and have really never strayed from the brand besides a few pairs of Re/Done jeans and vintage pairs I’ve made exceptions for. You know when you have that one brand that fits you right and you hold onto it for dear life? That was me and J Brand, until I was shopping and saw DL1961 jeans hanging there looking like they had a person in them still their shape was so intact and when I felt the material it was game over. These are the best jeans I’ve ever worn, there I said it! They are the comfiest and stretchiest jeans which I usually avoid because they turn into stretched-out wet noodles after wearing them for even two days. These have what seems to be infinite hold and infinite stretch. I wear mine all day and then sometimes, ok a lot of the time, forget to take them off before I hop on the couch or get in bed, they’re that comfortable. They have the best, most flattering cut, my favorite is the Florence Instasculpt Skinny, I live in them and I know for a fact you will love them too.
If you’re one of those people that’s been meaning to start some sort of self-care but doesn’t know where to begin this book is for you. I’ve read this about four times and every time I learn something different. It’s Oprah’s favorite takeaways from all the Super Soul Sunday interviews she’s done over the years. The book is comprised of short passages and quotes that reflect on a certain idea like forgiveness, awakening, etc. My whole perspective on life was changed by this book and I find that whenever I’m in a funk or have a bad attitude I can’t talk myself out of, this is the cure and you’re guaranteed (by me at least) to be a better person after reading it. I love that the book includes perspectives from all religions, all races, all ages and speaks to anyone and everyone looking to dig a little deeper.
